My name is Emily Slessor, and I am excited to be joining the Daniel & Partners LLP team this summer.
I am originally from Georgetown Ontario, where I attended high school before moving to Kingston to pursue my undergraduate degree at Queen’s University. At Queen’s I achieved a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Global Development Studies which sparked my passion for human rights issues and inspired me to apply to law school.
In September of 2022, I started my Juris Doctor at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. In my first year of law school, I was involved with Pro Bono Students Canada where I had the opportunity to interview individuals who suffered occupational injuries and learn about workers compensation in Ontario. Outside of school, I enjoyed exploring all the wonderful sights that northern Ontario has to offer.
I am attracted to a career in the legal profession because I love to learn and be challenged to think in new ways. I am also an avid traveller who loves experiencing new places, foods, and cultures.
As someone who is new to the Niagara region, I am grateful to be working at Daniel & Partners LLP this summer as it is an excellent opportunity to connect with the local community.
