My name is Kevin Bonneau and I am honoured to be working as a summer student with Daniel & Partners LLP. Growing up in Grimsby, I quickly recognized the welcoming spirit and strong sense of community that is abundant in the Niagara Region. Accordingly, having the opportunity to learn more about the law while helping the community means a great deal.
After completing my high school years at Grimsby Secondary School I attended McMaster University where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Justice, Political Philosophy & Law. During my undergrad I met many amazing people who reinforced my love for the friendly nature I’ve come to expect in Niagara. I was then accepted to Western University’s law program and completed my second year in the program this past April. Though Western does feel a long way from home, the learning experience has been invaluable, as the school has many passionate and insightful professors.
Throughout my life I have been heavily involved in music, and have been playing saxophone for the past 14 years. In addition to being a fantastic hobby, music has also allowed me to give back to the community in many ways. In 2015, I put together and directed a jazz quintet to help fundraise for the Music for Matthew program, a program that provides music lessons to children who could not otherwise afford them. Most recently, I have been selected as Chair of the Obiter Dicta committee at Western, which runs the annual end-of-year concert to raise money for St. Joseph’s Hospice in London.
As you might have guessed, I am a music nut, and am likely to talk your ear off about jazz, funk, or disco. I also enjoy hiking on the escarpment, sketching, and writing poetry.
I cannot thank Daniel & Partners enough for this opportunity and I hope my work with them will allow me to help those in need and promote that sense of community I have come to know and love.
