Hello! My name is Ilena Ricker-Singh, and I am excited to join Daniel & Partners LLP as a 1L Summer student for 2025.
I am currently a first-year law student at the University of Windsor Law School. I completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours undergraduate degree at York University in Criminology, being on the Dean’s honour roll and earning cum laude distinction. I also completed a master’s degree in Socio-Legal Studies at York University, focusing my research on Ontario’s provincial concussion policies in sport.
I am an avid sport lover, receiving an athletic scholarship to play ice hockey to both York University for my undergraduate and master’s degree and the University of Windsor for my law degree. It was my honour to serve as Assistant captain at both York and Windsor.
In my spare time during the academic and athletic year, I had the privilege or organizing community fundraisers such as food drives and team events alongside mentoring teammates in academics and leadership.
Outside of the office, you will find me outside going for hikes, bike riding or playing sports! I am a nature lover who enjoys researching different plant and animal life. You will also catch me reading books and lounging outside in the fresh air.
I look forward to developing my skills in the legal field and embracing my new role at Daniel & Partners LLP. I thank everyone who has made this possible, and the firm for their support in this exciting chapter of my life.
