Hi everyone, I’m Maggie Jessop and I am happy to be back at Daniel & Partners LLP for my second year as a summer student!
This past year I completed my second year of law school at Swansea University’s Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. I am currently enrolled in the Trent University/ Swansea University dual degree program, pursuing a law degree in the United Kingdom, while also pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Political Studies at Trent University. While at Swansea University, I volunteer at their Legal Clinic where we offer free legal advice and provide outreach programs to members of the local community. I am also on the University’s Negotiation Team, where I have been able to compete in global competitions with law students around the world. As a member of Swansea’s Law Society, Barrister Society and Canadian Law Society, I have found a strong community within my law school peers, making friends I hope to keep for life. My time spent traveling has been invaluable and I hope to always continue immersing myself in different cultures and expanding my knowledge of the world. While back in my hometown for the summer, I have been spending my free time doing what I love most which is being with my friends and family. We love to go up north to our cottage and bring all our animals! As I enter my final year of law school, Trent University along with Daniel & Partners, continues to provide me with the tools, experience and encouragement for making my transition back to Canada where I will pursue my legal career. I feel so grateful to be able to experience the law hands on and see its ability to positively impact my own community here in Niagara
