LCLA Law Day Food Drive

May 14, 2025

Today marks the last day of the Lincoln County Law Association’s ‘Law Day Food Drive’, to benefit Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.

‘Law Day’ is a national event which celebrates the anniversary of the signing of Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Law Day originated in 1983 through the Canadian Bar Association. Law Day aims to educate and inform the public about the role and importance of both the law and the justice system.

In 2015, the LCLA Board of Directors, including Sarah J. Draper, organized the first Law Day Food Drive in support of Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold. Thanks to the support of the lawyers, staff, clients, friends, and family of Daniel & Partners LLP who contributed to this cause helped the firm to win the inaugural LCLA Law Firm Food Drive Challenge by donating an incredible 630 items of food. The Food Drive Challenge is back again this year. The law firm or individual raising the most items of food will have their name added to the trophy and will get to display the trophy in their office.

The Law Day Food Drive concludes today at Market Square in St. Catharines from 9:00am to 2:00pm. LCLA members, including our associate Nicholas Baxter and articling student Karen Shedden, will be on hand to collect your food and monetary donations.

Community Care accepts donations year round. For more information please visit their website at: http://www.communitycarestca.ca.
