Law Day is a national event originated by the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). First held in 1983, Law Day celebrates the signing of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Law Day aims to educate and inform the public about the role and importance of the law.
In 2015, the Lincoln County Law Association (LCLA) Board of Directors, including Sarah J. Draper and Lauren M. Angle, organized the first Law Day food drive in support of Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold. The 2015 food drive was an incredible success, bringing in 771 pounds of food.
The 2nd Annual Law Day Food Drive will be held at the St. Catharines Farmers Market on April 12th and 14th from 9:00am to 2:00pm, and LCLA members will be on hand to collect your food and monetary donations.
The Food Drive competition is back this year as well, with two categories, one for law firms and one for individuals. Whichever law firm or individual raises the most items of food will have their name added to the trophy and will get to display the trophy in their office.
Team Daniel & Partners LLP won the inaugural LCLA Law Firm Food Drive Challenge, donating 630 items of food!
