Sarah J. Draper and her family are proud supporters of the Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair . The NRSEF is dedicated to the encouragement of science and engineering in students from Grades 5 through 12 within the Niagara Region.
Since 2007, the Draper Family has presented a special award, the James Draper Memorial Award, to students who “demonstrate the most ingenious use of available materials while conducting scientific research experiments, or in the creation of an innovative product”.
The award is in memory of Sarah’s father Jim, who won the NRSEF and the Canada-Wide Science Fair in the Grade 7/8 category in 1973.
This year’s winner of the James Draper Memorial Award is Alexander Lebedev of Notre Dame Catholic Elementary School in Niagara Falls for his project “Variations and Levels of Subatomic Particles in Environmental Background Radiation”.
Congratulations Alexander!
